Hugo’s Garden is Established in honor of Hugo Paluch,

Hugo’s Garden is named for a very special boy. At only fourteen years old, Hugo had a heart big enough to see people that others often walked past. When he noticed men collecting bottles and cans from the rubbish to make a living, he didn’t just look away — he brought them hot meals, raised money to help them, and treated them with respect and dignity. Hugo showed us that kindness, caring, and responsibility are not about age, but about the choices we make every day.

In our preschool, we want children to grow with those same roots of compassion, courage, and creativity. Just as Hugo planted seeds of goodness that continue to grow, we hope to nurture children who take responsibility, notice who needs a helping hand, and believe they can make a difference.

Hugo left this world at the age of 14 in a tragic incident on the soccer field at school, but he remains with us as a neshama, continuously impacting this world in the way he only knows how - to continue making it a better place.

“Hugo reminds us: life is a garden, and chessed is what makes it grow.”
